36 weeks. I’m in the homestretch. I’ve been measuring right on at every appointment until this past week. I went in for the usual and all of the sudden I measure 31 weeks…when just the week prior I measured 34 weeks. The doctor asked, “Do you feel like you’ve dropped at all?” when he should really just have asked me if it feels like my hips are being pulled apart like a wishbone or do I have the sensation of carrying a 30 pound bowling ball in my pelvis. Then yes, yes I do think I have dropped.
He wanted an ultrasound scheduled just in case to make sure that it is indeed everything dropping down into where it’s supposed for the grand descent and nothing else. The ultrasound showed everything right on schedule and actually bumped my due date up 3 days. I’ll take that. So the lil’ feller measures 36 weeks and 2 days old and weighs approximately 6 1/2 pounds and is welcome to come out whenever he’s ready. Preferably today. Tomorrow at the latest.
