i’m so restless!!

I thought for sure last night was showtime. Beginning early afternoon, I had contractions that started out every 1/2 hour and progressed to every 10 – 15 minutes. I called my mom around 8 p.m. and she was ready to come over whenever it was time. I hate hospitals, so my goal is to stay at home for as long as possible…going in at the last possible moment only to hug the anesthesiologist. Jason and I wanted to get as much sleep as possible last night as we anticipated labor so we headed to bed and I was up all night with contractions until 3 a.m.. Then they stopped. And that was that. And now I have to pack for our big move this week. I thought for sure I could somehow use my superpowers to will myself into labor so that I could get out of packing. But now, I am so restless and I’m ready to embrace the big move. This afternoon we get to pick up the keys to our new home. Our contract date is January 15th, but the sellers have moved to their new home in Virginia yesterday and said we could move in early. Mrs. Seller also has moving boxes for me she’s leaving in the garage that they didn’t use. So this afternoon, I’m taking my mom, the kids and my camera to our new home to take before photos. I promise that I am going to get the boxes and come home and start packing tonight. Or maybe tomorrow. Unless I go into labor…which would totally get me out of doing it and I’d get to do something much more fun like have a baby.

On a side note, I somehow managed to paint my toes. It wasn’t a pretty site. My unpainted toes OR me trying to paint them. I about pooped myself. But they are pedicured and looking pretty for all the nurses. Motherhood really makes you let yourself go. There used to be a time when I’d never go a day without painted toes or makeup on my face. It’s amazing what a shower, nailpolish and makeup will do for a girl.
